Chiang Mai temperatures dropped about 15 degrees, just from one day to another. From baking and non-stop sweating to a European style autumn. Rain fell out of the sky like the world was going to end and we decided to stay inside 75% of the time. Maxi relaxi at ‘home’ in our hotel room lead to boredom and instagram staring.
Then one moment after searching the Chiang Mai hashtag (I told you I was bored), I bumped into a super cool picture of cacti in a greenhouse. Hash tagged Chiang Mai. Nerdy as I am, I immediately googled the shit out of it. Greenhouses, botanical gardens, it is all happening just 25km from our hotel room. I managed quite quickly to convince Jaryd to go visit some botanical gardens again. Again? YES, I’ll just say it out loud. I am completely obsessed with gardens! It’s just a must on every single trip I go, or place I live (check my previous post about this here).
So, off we went. On the scooter, freezing our toes off. Wearing layers of clothing and rain jackets (+ shorts… gosh I wish I brought jeans!). But the pain of the scooter ride was quickly forgotten once we arrived. Welcome to the Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens. A paradise in the middle of nowhere, where banana trees have their own lanes and cacti are king of the greenhouse!
Oh yeah… I managed to bring my camera with a dead battery but luckily I did have full battery on my phone. This was the perfect opportunity to test out the iPhone lenses I bought weeks ago, which I never really used but always carried around. Well… Here are the results!
